AMPrac Delta Inaugurates New Task Force to Strengthen Nollywood Operations in Delta State

The inauguration took place during the association's September General Meeting held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Jina Hotel, Asaba, with members from across the state in attendance.

Chairman dissolves satellite branches

In a major policy announcement, the State Chairman of AMPrac Delta, Comrade Chuma Mmeka (T-Char), disclosed that all satellite branches and the offices of satellite coordinators across Delta State had been dissolved with effect from September 23, 2026.

Mmeka explained that the decision was taken to streamline the administration of the guild, promote accountability, and ensure a unified leadership structure capable of serving members more effectively throughout the state.

New State Task Force inaugurated

The highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of a six-member AMPrac Delta State Task Force Team.

The committee is headed by Stephen Akaeze as Chairman, with Johnathan Chiemela Wisdom Ezenwa serving as Deputy Chairman. Chidimma Inya was inaugurated as Secretary, while Victor Obioma Nwakanma, Emmanuel Aguguo, and Kenneth Azuka Emezulu will serve as members.

Addressing the committee, Chairman Chuma Mmeka charged the task force to maintain professionalism and fairness while carrying out its responsibilities. He specifically directed the team to work closely with sister Nollywood guilds, the Nollywood Guild Chairmen (NOGUC), and legitimate security agencies whenever the need arises.

According to him, the task force will help protect members' interests, mediate disputes, enforce guild regulations, support lawful film production activities, and strengthen collaboration within Delta State's creative industry for the benefit of practitioners and the general public.

Guild Services Directorate receives new leadership

The Chairman also inaugurated the guild's Directorate of Guild Services, appointing Victor Onyeka as Director of Guild Services I (DGS1) and Precious Ikechukwu as Director of Guild Services II (DGS2).

The Guild Services Directorate is expected to coordinate members' welfare, oversee guild activities and events, improve communication among members, encourage active participation in guild programmes, and foster unity and professional development across the association.

Ikah Searchlight gets new Coordinator

In another development, Kenneth Azuka Emezulu was appointed and inaugurated as the new Ikah Satellite Coordinator.

He was mandated to appoint only valid financial members of AMPrac as Secretary and Public Relations Officer for the Searchlight unit, a move intended to strengthen grassroots coordination and membership mobilization within the Ikah axis.

Former chairman completes official handover

Members also witnessed a symbolic moment as Sir Lordfrank Uwaezuoke, former Chairman of AMPrac Delta State, and current national patron of the association, officially handed over documents relating to his tenure to the incumbent Chairman, Comrade Chuma Mmeka.

The handover, though long overdue, was warmly applauded by members, who described it as a positive step towards continuity, transparency, and institutional stability within the association.

Membership registration continues

The leadership announced that AMPrac Delta State membership registration remains open, encouraging actors, filmmakers, producers, writers, and other qualified movie practitioners across Delta State to join the association and participate in its ongoing programmes and reforms.

Appreciation to meeting hosts

The association expressed heartfelt appreciation to Phoebe Maruchi Mark, Sir Lordfrank Uwaezuoke, and Amarachi Julius Grace for sponsoring the hosting of the September general meeting.

Members commended their generosity and commitment to the growth and unity of AMPrac Delta State.

Commendation for national leadership

The Delta State Chapter equally praised the national leadership of AMPrac under the able leadership of Comrade Ifeanyi Azodo, President of AMPrac, for its unwavering support and guidance to the state chapter.

Special commendation was also extended to Ukaegbu Tochukwu (Don Jay), Chairman of the AMPrac Chairmen's Forum, for his consistent encouragement and unalloyed support towards the progress and stability of AMPrac Delta State.

The meeting ended with renewed commitment by members to build a stronger, more united, and professionally driven Nollywood industry in Delta State under the current leadership.
